Vince Zampella, renowned for co-creating the wildly popular video game Call of Duty, has died in a traffic collision in California he was 55 years old.

Zampella's death was verified by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the development studio he co-founded.

The celebrated industry figure lost his life when his car crashed and was engulfed in flames on a freeway in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, according to.
