Salah Extends Apology to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has revealed that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the fallout from his recent interview.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a European match after criticising the club and claiming his relationship with manager had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I'm sorry.’”
Arne Slot has refused to comment publicly on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.
Team Unity
The player stated that the squad's reaction was unchanged. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
He also suggested that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “I get that there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
On-Field Response
Their results have remained strong in the matches since the situation. He feels the forward's comments were not designed to harm the team.
“In moments of frustration, the source has been from a desire to win,” he finished. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, performing and on a positive run.”
