England face China – Female Friendly Match
Overview
Greetings and welcome to the friendly match between the English side and the Chinese squad at London’s Wembley. The match is set to be a thriller with the reigning European champions competing against the holders of the Asian Cup title.
The iconic Wembley is fully booked for the occasion, which will see Fran Kirby recognized pre-match after her international retirement before the Euro tournament this past summer.
Squad announcements will be revealed soon, but there was a last minute squad update for England. On Friday, Khiara Keating withdrew from the squad with a slight knock, and so ex-first choice Ellie Roebuck has been added to the squad.
With Hannah Hampton unavailable, it will be interesting to see who head coach Sarina Wiegman selects in goal. That news and all the other updates are incoming before kick-off at 5.30pm GMT.
Team News
The lineups have been announced. Anna Moorhouse will be the goalkeeper for England in the unavailability of Hannah Hampton and Khiara Keating.
England: Moorhouse, Bronze, Charles, Walsh, Le Tissier, Morgan, Mead, Stanway, Russo, Toone, Hemp.
Bench: Hings, Baggaley, Kendall, Wubben-Moy, Beever-Jones, Kelly, Kearns, Park, Blindkilde Brown, Roebuck, Clinton, Denton, Fisk, Godfrey.
I am searching for the squad from China now; when it comes through, I will share it.
Leadership Role

Debut Alert
Tonight’s game will be Anna Moorhouse’s debut for England. She belonged to the European Championship squad who triumphed this past summer, but she remained on the bench with Hannah Hampton in the first-choice keeper position.
