Emma Raducanu concludes her season and has decided to continue with her coach into the 2026 season.

Emma Raducanu in action during a tennis match

Raducanu advanced to round three in three out of four major tournaments during the season.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu will not compete in her remaining competitions of the year due to a health issue she has been fighting over the past 10 days.

Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in events in Asia but chose to travel back to recover prior to beginning her preparations for 2026.

Her upcoming training are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together for the upcoming season.

She required blood pressure checks during her first-round match with Ann Li in Wuhan last week and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She needed once more a doctor's assessment at this week's Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

Her movement was far from freely in the deciding set against Zhu due to a lower back issue that has affected her during parts of the season.

These outcomes meant an encouraging season, in which she climbed into the international top 30 after more than three years for the first time since 2022, ended with three successive defeats.

She held three match points prior to falling to Jessica Pegula in the third stage in the Beijing tournament last month.

She secured 28 victories this year and reached the semi-finals in the Washington tournament, but her most impressive week was at the Miami event in March.

The British number one advanced to the quarters of a premier WTA event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way prior to a loss in a three-set match to fourth-ranked Pegula.

Her coach was Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.

The first plan with Rafael Nadal's former coach was through the season's conclusion but the collaboration persists, with a training session scheduled late this year.

The athlete revealed that her three-day trial with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

The player was close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she advanced to round three before being beaten by 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
