Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.

US actor Finn, who was seen in iconic TV shows including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California this Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, as reported by news outlets.

"He never met a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his relatives said in a statement.

They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".

A Notable TV Career

Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.

He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a party host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.

Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous popular shows, including:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

He was most recognized for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies include It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".

Beyond the Screen

Beyond his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

He was part of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find anyone who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, fellow actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote on social media.

The actor is survived by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
